A Campground Christmas
December 9, 2022, 5 - 9:00pm
December 10, 2022, 5 - 9:00pm
Here are the full details on "A Campground Christmas" as they currently exist. The trustees will be needing help with this event. Please check below for details on how to help. **We are pleased to announce the second annual "A Campground Christmas"!** The event will go for two evenings: December 9, 5 - 9:00pm and December 10, 5 - 9:00pm.
Tent owners are encouraged to decorate their tents in any Christmas fashion they choose. As this is still a campground sponsored event, we must still follow the rules - no pets, no open flames, and no alcohol or drugs. The electricity at the campground is always on. If a tent-owner wishes to use lights in their decorations that require electricity, then they will be charged by Duke Power for that energy use.
Everyone is invited to walk around to see the decorations and visit with friends. The passing out of treats to visitors such as cookies, candies, apple cider, or hot chocolate is welcome and encouraged. We hope to have a small live nativity scene in a section of the arbor each evening as a final place to visit before departing. We will need multiple couples to play Mary and Joseph throughout the event. The trustees are actively inviting church choirs to act as roving carolers both evenings. We would ideally like 6-8 different groups moving throughout the campground.
If you are interested in participating in any way (decorating your tent, choir, caroling, play Mary or Joseph, etc.), please email Donna Lutz-Carpenter at firstname.lastname@example.org. She will be coordinating participants.
In addition, we will have the laser-engraved Christmas ornaments for sale at the event. You can see more information about them here: https://www.ballscreekcampground.org/Christmas-Ornaments. The ornaments will be for sale at tent 171A and are $10 each.
We will also be having a food drive to benefit the The Christian Food Pantry of Sherrills Ford & Clothes Closet (https://www.facebook.com/The-Christian-Food-Pantry-of-Sherrills-Ford-Clothes-Closet-1635990860002567) at Hopewell United Methodist Church. Contributions can be dropped off at Tent 71.
We're looking forward to this heavily requested event and are happy to see it happen! Please be patient with the trustees as they finalize the plans.
